Vivo will introduce its new V80 handset in India on October 6, 2026. It will be replacing last year’s V70 model. Vivo has already released a few specs of the phone, which include the display, camera configuration, battery, and software features. The V80 will be the first ever V-series phone to be preloaded with Vivo’s new OriginOS 7 software. Typically, this series is about the camera, and that is no exception here.
It is equipped with a camera system backed by Zeiss and includes such features as 4K cinematic video and AI camera tools such as AI Diwali Portrait 2.0. Vivo has already revealed that the Vivo V80 will sport a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen of 1260×2750 resolution and a pixel density of 459 ppi. It comes with Gorilla Glass protection, a punch-hole camera cutout and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, covering approximately 90.85% of the front surface. Brightness can reach up to 5000 nits, it is easy to see in the out-of-doors.
At the heart of the phone lies a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip that is based on 4nm process and features an octa-core processor along with an Adreno 722 GPU. It is powered by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage (UFS 3.1) with 8GB of which is accessible for user storage. It is powered by Vivo’s new OriginOS 7 on top of the Android operating system.
The rear end of the V80 camera is equipped with a three-camera setup. It has a 50MP main sensor (Sony LYTIA 700V) with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The setup can record video in up to 4K resolution. For selfies, it also has a 50MP front shooter to capture 4K videos.
Battery life is also on par. The phone features a significant 7200mAh battery compared to the previous model, and can be charged quickly with 90W fast wired power. It is also dust and waterproof to IP68 and IP69 which means that it can resist dust and resist water splashes and can even be submerged for a short period of time.
The V80 design is 157.52mm high, 74.33mm wide and 7.69mm thick, and weighs 203 grams. It is glass back, and will come in 3 colors: Stellar Black, Horizon Blue and Sunrise Anthem.
Connectivity features include support for 5G, dual-sim (Nano+Nano), Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and an infrared port. It also supports GPS with A-GPS and Glonass and offers VoLTE for crystal clear calls.
Multiple security feature options like ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and face unlock provide extra security to the users. Other sensors include proximity, compass, gyroscope and accelerometer.
