The Vivo V29 is now available in two versions – one with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM, the other with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM. The price in Bangladesh for the Vivo V29 is 56,999 Taka. It has a large 4600mAh battery that supports incredibly fast 80W charging.

Vivo V29 Design

Vivo V29  is super slim and light. Even though it’s got a huge 6.78-inch screen, it only weighs 186 grams. That feels amazing compared to my current phone. Speaking of the screen, it’s got a really nice curve that makes the phone feel extra thin in your hands.

Vivo also always has such cool colors to choose from. This one comes in Peak Blue, Starry Purple, Velvet Red and Noble Black. The blue and purple have this glittery sparkle look that shifts as the light hits – so cool! I especially liked the purple which goes from light purple to almost white.

All the models feel very premium. The glass backs are super smooth. Just a heads up that the blue and purple are grippier if you want to go caseless. It’s also got water resistance which is nice. And Vivo says they tested it a ton to make sure it can handle drops and temperature changes.

Even though it’s affordable, nothing about this phone feels cheap. The build quality is top-notch. If you want a slim phone with a big screen that also looks amazing.

Vivo V29 Cameras

The selfie camera on the V29 looks amazing, just like its predecessor. It has a whopping 50 megapixels and fast, accurate autofocus. This means you’ll always look sharp whether holding the phone close or at a distance. Not many other phones, except maybe the new Pixel 8 Pro, have autofocus this good on their front cameras.

Around back, the camera setup is similar to the Vivo V27. You still get a 50MP main sensor and 8MP ultra-wide lens. A couple small changes though – the useless 2MP macro camera is gone, replaced by a 2MP depth sensor to help with portrait mode. And the main sensor is now a Samsung GN5 instead of a Sony.

Photos from the main camera look fantastic, especially in daylight. Vivo’s color processing makes images vibrant and natural looking with sharp details and good dynamic range. Low light shots also turn out well thanks to the capable night mode. And as usual, portrait mode blurs the background just right.

The ultra-wide lens can’t compare to the main one for detail levels. It also has fixed focus so no closeups. But it still comes in handy sometimes when you need a wider shot.

With such good low light photos from night mode, the phone’s clever ambient light sensor might not get heavy use. But it’s nice to have the option to match the screen’s lighting to your surroundings. You can also manually adjust it or use the separate LED flash when needed.

Vivo V29 Display

The new Vivo V29 smartphone has a gorgeous curved display and slim design that makes it super comfortable to hold. At just 186 grams, it’s surprisingly lightweight for a phone with a 6.78-inch screen. I’ve been using the chunkier Vivo X90 Pro, so the V29 feels like a real treat in comparison.

Vivo is known for their colorful phone designs, and the V29 continues that tradition with four beautiful finish options. I got to check out the Peak Blue and Starry Purple models – Peak Blue has a smooth gradient, while Starry Purple shifts between light purple and off-white in wavy patterns that catch the light. There’s also a stunning Velvet Red that changes between purple and red hues depending on the angle, and a classic Noble Black. All phones come with a clear case, but the sparkly blue and purple would look amazing without one too.

Even though it’s affordable, the V29 is built like a high-end phone. The materials feel solid and the design is eye-catching. It also has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Vivo says they tested it extensively too, with over 60 lab scenarios including drops, temperature changes, and more. So you can feel confident taking this phone anywhere without worrying. Overall, the V29 delivers a premium experience at a great price point.

Vivo V29 Performance

Vivo V29 phone has the Snapdragon 778G processor, which is a solid mid-range chip from a couple years back. Now obviously it’s not gonna set any speed records when you look at the benchmarks. But remember – this same chip is in other popular phones like the Nothing (1) and the Honor 70. So we know it gets the job done well.

Also, this one comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. And you can virtually add another 8GB on top of that! So multitasking is a breeze on this thing. In daily use, everything just feels super snappy and responsive. Apps open up in no time, and you totally forget it’s not some super high-end flagship.

The only time you really notice is when playing heavier 3D games. Even then, you gotta throw something really graphics-intensive at it, like my current favorite Honkai Star Rail. For that one, I had to turn the graphics down to “low” to get it running smoothly. But it looked and played great that way. And the phone only started to feel warm after like 45 minutes of solid gameplay – never getting too hot to handle.

Vivo V29 Software

Vivo V29 phone for a while now and have some thoughts on the FunTouch OS 13 operating system. Having used the X90 Pro in the past, this OS definitely feels familiar. It sticks pretty close to the standard Android experience, which I like, but also adds some really deep customization options. Those are nice to have available but there are a few downsides too.

The main issue I’ve encountered is getting all my notifications. By default, the power saving settings are pretty aggressive so I had to tweak some things to make sure I don’t miss anything. The other thing is all the extra apps it comes with, or “bloatware” as some people call it. There’s a ton just like on the previous V phones I tested. Thankfully most of it is easy to uninstall if you want a cleaner look.

Overall the OS works well but just be prepared to do some tweaking early on if you want your phone to feel fully optimized for your usage. Once you adjust the few settings it’s not too bad though.

Vivo V29 Battery and Charger

Vivo V29 has a huge 4600 mAh battery, and combined with the efficient processor, you’ll get awesome battery life. Even with heavy use all day, it’ll easily last until bedtime without needing a charge. And when it does die, just plug it in – the 80W charger that comes with it juices it up super fast.

Going from zero to 100% will take about 40 minutes, and a halfway charge of 50% only takes 20 minutes. It doesn’t have wireless charging, but to be honest not many phones at this price have that feature yet. All in all, the battery and charging on this Vivo phone is sweet – you’ll have plenty of power to get through your day without any stress.
